Taking regular physical exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle and can help to maintain wellbeing. Physical activity creates valuable opportunities to socialise with others, and can help improve and maintain a person's independence. Engaging in physical activities can also improve self-esteem and mood, which in turn encourages more social engagement that may also contribute to wellbeing.  It also gives us self-control and the ability to rise to a challenge.

Exercise helps people lose weight and lower the risk of some diseases. Exercising to maintain a healthy weight decreases a person's risk of developing certain diseases, including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. These diseases, which used to be found mostly in adults, are becoming more common in teenagers.

Physical activity can help people with mild depression. Evidence shows that it can also help protect people against anxiety. Physical activity is thought to cause chemical changes in the brain, which can help to positively change our mood.

We combine a range of fun sports and exercise activities to improve wellbeing and cognitive function by stimulation the release of endorphins with some of the following activities:

  • Football

  • Athletics

  • Calisthenics

  • Circuit Training

  • Zumba

  • Obstacle Course Racing (OCR)

Why nutrition is important. Eating a balanced diet is vital for good health and wellbeing. Food provides our bodies with the energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals to live, grow and function properly. We need a wide variety of different foods to provide the right amounts of nutrients for good health.

We provide diet advice, encourage cheaper but healthier food alternatives and food and snack testing.
